Thank you for visiting my shop. Did you know that all of my yarns are Fair Trade and the majority are hand spun especially for me in Chile and Peru?
I stock many more yarns than I can ever list in my shop, so if you have a colour, texture or project in mind, please do get in touch - I am very happy to make up bespoke orders and love a challenge!

For detailed information about both UK and INTERNATIONAL shipping options please see my shop policies.
Please do send me a message if you have any questions.

Welcome to my Etsy shop. I hope that you will enjoy browsing my products as much as I enjoy working with them! If you have any questions, or any special requests, please do get in touch - I really do want to help! And I shall endeavour to respond within a few hours - I am rarely far from my phone, even when out feeding the animals or waiting for the school bus! Except on a Sunday - when I may tune out for a while ;-)
I run a small fair trade business supporting spinners and weavers in Chile. I am a supplier member of BAFTS (British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers), so you can rest assured that all of my weaving yarns are sourced directly by me, adhering strictly to fair trade principles.

Shipping

I am shipping UK parcels twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. My order deadline for next day dispatch is 17:00 BST on the preceding day (Monday/Thursday).

UK DELIVERY: parcels with Free Shipping will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class or Hermes courier (3-5 business days) depending on the size of the parcel.

*DELIVERY UPGRADE option - shipped every working day via Royal Mail 1st Class. Example - order by 5pm for next working day collection, delivery aim is currently 2 working days. Please contact me for further information if you require a parcel urgently.

UNITED STATES ORDERS with free or standard shipping will be dispatched via Royal Mail International Tracked. I will aim to ship twice a week on a Wednesday and Friday. I will message you with more information if there is likely to be any delay in shipping.
EXPRESS ORDERS to USA will be dispatched on the next available working day via UPS. Delivery aim is 3-4 working days.

I AM HAPPY TO SHIP TO OTHER INTERNATIONAL DESTINATIONS (subject to availability) - PLEASE MESSAGE ME FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING BREXIT AND ORDERS FROM THE EU:
Sadly, the UK has now left the European Union. As a result, parcels may be subject to additional customs levies/charges when they arrive in your own country. These charges will vary for each country and so I urge you to check locally before ordering.
This situation is very new, but it is my understanding that you should now expect to be asked to pay the following charges before the courier will hand over your package*:
- local sales tax (VAT)
- courier handling/brokerage fee (+ vat)
- customs duty for orders over 150 euros.
* This is a new, and changing situation, so precise fees collected may differ. Unfortunately I cannot be held responsible for any customs related charges due on your order.

Due to recent problems with reliability, I am no longer using UPS for my EUROPEAN deliveries. I am using Royal Mail International Tracked service instead. If you have a preferred carrier, please send me a message and I will attempt to give you an accurate shipping quote.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DELIVERY TIMES ARE AN ESTIMATE ONLY.
If you are concerned about your parcel, please check the tracking information provided (where available), or contact me for further information.

I reserve the right to refuse an order if the delivery charge is higher than expected. In this situation I will contact you with an accurate quote for delivery. If the new quote is not acceptable I will cancel the order and issue a full refund.

CUSTOMS ETC. Customs charges are the responsibility of the customer. I cannot be held responsible for delays due to customs.

YOU THINK YOUR PARCEL MIGHT BE LOST?
Please bear in mind that delivery times given above are only ESTIMATES.
Royal Mail will only enter into a claim for a lost parcel after the following time lapses:
EU - 20 working days after the item was due for delivery.
REST OF WORLD - 25 working days after item was due for delivery.
UPS - a claim can be initiated once the estimated delivery date has passed; claims are currently taking 10-15 working days to resolve.
If you think that your parcel might be lost, please contact me to let me know so that I can investigate. Please bear in mind that I am unable to offer a refund until the above time period has passed.

PACKAGING AND THE ENVIRONMENT:
I have now almost completely eliminated plastic from my parcel packaging.
Yarn orders are shipped in heavy duty paper sacks sealed with paper tape.
Larger items are boxed and, if padding is required, I use a paper 'bubble' wrap.
I will only use plastic packaging to wrap a rug/textile item to ensure that it arrives to you in a dry condition. I am currently using up old poly bags/sacks for this purpose.
International Orders require an external document wallet for customs purposes - unfortunately this is still plastic :(
Please re-use your packaging materials if possible. If this is not possible, please re-cycle/compost your unwanted packaging.

FAQ:
WHAT IS AN ORIGINAL RUSTIC WILDWOVEN ART LOOM?

These looms have been designed and created by myself with the help of hubbie David. We wanted to create a new style of loom that would also act as a picture frame, allowing your finished weaving to be instantly hung on the wall and enjoyed.
The weaving frames are not made in a factory, but at home in our draughty Welsh barn. David uses reclaimed or scrap pine wherever possible, and I like how the characterful irregularities of the wood complement our rustic yarns. So, please expect some degree of 'imperfection' in the finishes - it is intentional. The frames are very sturdy, but the wood may have pronounced knots, or unevenness of surface. The back of the frame is simply nailed and glued, but all of this is out of sight.
The frames have been stained and then finished with a light wax coating.

I HAVE NEVER WOVEN BEFORE, WILL I BE ABLE TO MANAGE ONE OF YOUR KITS?
All of my kits come with detailed instructions with photographs. Each kits will specify the skill level within the description.
My beginner kits are suitable for absolute beginners (including children, with adult help) - you will learn a few basic techniques, which you will then have the opportunity to practice with the different textured yarns included. These kits should take roughly 2-4 hours to complete.
My beginner-intermediate kits are still suitable for beginners, but the techniques involved will be a little more fiddly with more involved instructions, so really it is a case of deciding if you are a beginner with nimble fingers and plenty of patience! Expect to take 4-6 hours to complete one of these kits.

COLOUR REPRESENTATION:
I do my best to represent the true colours of the yarn, but please be aware that colours may vary between my monitor and yours.

BESPOKE ORDERS:
I am happy to make bespoke orders in colour and dimensions of your choice. Please contact me for details. Normal turnaround speed for yarns and kits is 3-5 days depending on availability of yarns. Turnaround for bespoke weavings is 14-28 days depending on size, complexity and availability of yarns.

FOR TRADE ORDERS: please email me at wildwoven [!at] gmail.com

NOTE FOR ALLERGY SUFFERERS:
PETS: I process orders in a house with three cats. I am unable to provide information as to the pets that may be present in the houses of the women in Chile who spin my yarn, although I am aware that some do keep dogs.

PLANTS: My handspun Chilean yarns are spun in the home. The women wash, comb and prepare the raw sheeps' fleece themselves. Some of my yarns are also plant dyed. You will expect to find small pieces of plant debris tangled in the wool fibres. A certain amount of dirt and plant debris may come out of the wool on washing. Colour fastness is not affected.
If you do have any concerns/questions, please ask before you order!
